WCB: NO LICKING! -- by Sadie
The geezer cats are going to the fur doctor tomorrow and I'm not! Yay me. Bianca needs a blood draw for her thyroid check and Willie needs a leukemia shot. The dawg may be forced to go along too because 72 hours of not messing with her paw bandage was too much for her and she's been sucking on that thing and ripping it off the wound any time Mosaic Lady is not looking. We need to go ask Skeezix what kind of purse goes best with an Elizabethan collar. The dawg will definitely be sporting that accessory tonight.
WOW. I was going to tell everyone how happy we are that after six weeks of no signs of improvement on her transdermal tapazole, all of a sudden Bianca seems to be doing 10 times better. No night retching for 10 days and she seems to be not nearly so bony. And then the fur doctor called in the middle of my blogging. The growth on the dawg's paw is chronic superficial perineal dermatitis with vernacula! (I KNEW that was what it was. Mosaic Lady never listens.) He also called it a "lick granuloma", so I just googled that: The so-called "Lick granuloma" is a raised, usually ulcerated area on a dog's wrist or ankle area caused by the dog's own incessant licking. Uh oh. The dawg's in trouble now. Her sore was self-inflicted! As if she's not already neurotic enough, now she's a canine cutter. It's hard to be the only normal one -- fur or skin -- in this fam dam.
Oh well, it's all good news for this week and we should just be grateful. Even though Mosaic Lady swears that this is her first and last dawg, and even though I've heard her (pretend to) joke that she'd trade the dawg for six cats...she got to wondering this week how different our lives would be without Leah, and pretty much realized that she was not wanting to experience all those ways just yet.
Happy weekend to all my new fur friends and thanks to our very kind hosts this weekend, Kashmin and Othello at Paulchen's Food Blog!

well, why is the dog self harming when she has a perfectly good feline around to do it for her? Hmm? Honestly! Wonders will never cease! x
Wow, that's a lot goin' on today! Hope you are able to sneak pictures of da dog with da elizabethian collar...they're funny to see!

You are very very busy, aren't you. Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Sadie, you sure are floofy!
I want to see what sort of purse Skeezix recommends for that collar - he's the expert on such things!
We finks any licking disorders are related to food. Dat's just owr opinion. Scratching itching fings dat happened to us were acoz of food. Now we eat only foods wif no grains or ofur junk in dem. If owr beans weren't so lazy dey would grind up chick-hens for us but dat's a lot of werk.
Happy weekend to you, too.
Thanks for joining WCB this week!
we hope the d-o-g is getting better soon. =^..^=
I'm tired after readin' all that!
(If you still want the pink sock kitty email MomBean at ironchefsugar AT hotmail DOT com. She's workin' on her etsy shop but it's takin longer than she thought...)
Mommy used to like Hoc at the beginning of da Dance show, but she knew it was time for him to go, when he was finally voted off this week. Mommy agrees that Neil has grown a lot, and being handsome (like Danny) always helps. Mommy hopes that maybe one of the girls will win this year, they are all very talented. She personally would like to see Sara (B-girl) win, but she thinks it's more likely Sabra or Jaimie.
I hope all your kitties and dawg are feeling well. I love your mosaics - I had a good look through last weekend. I make mosaics as well when I'm back home. Checking out your blogs makes me realize how much I miss it!
I am very sorry that the doggie has a hurty paw. I hope she gets better soon. Because an e-collar is not a good fashion statement!
Ooooo, I hope the d*g is feeling better soon. I've never really met a dog, but mine mombean sez that they can be quite nice. She gets misty when she talks about a big one she had when she was growing up. But she sez that they are more work than kitties. She'll stick with kitties now.

I'm so glad to hear Bianca is doing better. :) Both of those photos are wonderful! :)
Um, what can I say, I totally know what you mean with dogs being, um, less clever than cats, we have the exact same problem here at home. I wish he could be more like us always übersmart cats:)
Btw, what a gorgeous mosaic cat-header you have!
We hate to admit it, but we sorry the D-O-G has a hurt paw, too! We do not like D-O-G-S that much...in fact, not at all...Thank you for stopping by to see us and for your very nice comment!
Purrs,

I'm glad that Bianca is doing better. Leah is definitely not going to be happy about having to wear an Elizabethan collar. I hope you can get her to stop licking her paw, so she can get better.
I can't believe how much you guys have going on with blood tests and bandaged paws and everything else. Elizabethan collars look cool though so I hope Leah likes it. FAZ
Sadie and Bianca your pictures are gorgeous! We are glad to hear that the d*g is going to be fine. You girls knew it all along.

Wonderful news Bianca! That thyroid stuff can be very nasty! Sounds like a nice turn around. And Sadie, you just keep looking gorgeous and writing good stuff!
