Snakey Sadie Sunday

We have seen this very snake three times in our new back yard. Once on the driveway and twice in this very spot up on the stairs around the blackberry bushes in the part of the garden that Sadie loves best. We know it's the same snake because this one is long and black. See the head, way over on that log? Sadie is trying to make friends with this snake in hopes that it will play with her. We don't have the energy to try to win over such a long snake at this point in our golden years, but if Anastasia has any snake befriending tips for Sadie, please post them here for her.

Mosaic Lady keeps a close eye on all this and tells Sadie often: "NO Snakes, Sadie!" Sadie ignores her. Mosaic Lady likes to pick ripe blackberries every day and chants to herself as she reaches down into the tall grass: "NO Snakes, Mosaic Lady!" We are waiting for the nice young man to come back to mow and whack our yards. Two months is stretching it but Mosaic Lady would rather spend the money on our Wysong Geriatrix. Good call.

WHO PUT A FOTO OF THE DAWG IN OUR POST????

Yup, Z, S & S...we think it's a Racer for sure. Did you read this part: Racers actively forage during daylight. No shit, Sadie Sherlock! And how 'bout this part: Racers will eat almost anything they can catch, including rodents, amphibians, lizards, birds, insects, turtles, and other snakes, even other racers.

Cannibal snakes! Gross! See how ours is all curvy? We think it ate another Racer. SAAAAAAAAAADDDIIIIEEEE, time to come IN NOW!

Hi! Thanks for visiting us! We're glad that you liked our authentic pink wig (from Mom's Halloween costume accessories), but we HATED posing in it. It was too embarrassing. We both closed our eyes so hide our shame.

We see that your Mom originally came from California. Our mom is native Northern Virginian, but our Dad is tried and true Californian. He's been here 13 years, but does not like the East Coast. Mom has a sister in North Carolina - Wake Forest.

Please to meet you,
~J&B

Snakes are Riot's Favorite Present to bring us, and a few have been copper heads. But the Dadman screams and removes them. The Mama likes snakes. Be Very Very Careful. The bites hurt!

Purrs and Love

And the Woofie... well we don't mind. She is very pretty!
