Cat Art Sunday - Mosaic Lady's Stuff

Thanks for all the nice comments about the Katrina Cats post of last Wordless Wednesday. However, Mosaic Lady can not paint. Or draw. Or even trace an object. That was a recent gift purchased for us at the Atlanta Folk Fest. We love it so much and were going to post it today but then the Katrina anniversary day came along and it seemed so very appropriate for all the sad memories and tributes of last week.

Here are some vases and carafes that ML has done over the years with kitties on them. All have happy forever homes.

This was the original Happy Birthday Kitty vase. It lives in Napa with ML's mother and grandmother. (This is our only photo and it's been cropped to use in some marketing material.)

This was the second Happy Birthday Kitty vase ML got out of that same mug. The expression on the kitty's face just cracks us up. (We think it portends how ML is going to look next February when she turns 50.) This one sold on eBay in early 2006.

This Calico Kitty Carafe/Crock was a donation we made to the Humane Society's silent auction back in 2006 when we lived in Colorado.

Merry Christmas Kitty vase also sold on eBay in 2006. Sometimes it's fun to use these whimsical coffee mugs, even though they are chunky and funky. Especially if they have cats on them. Mosaic Lady loves chunky, funky cats. (and Bianca loves Chunky Monkey ice cream.)

Phoebe's Wine Carafe is a very new piece just completed a couple of weeks ago. Phoebe sent ML a few broken Ralph Lauren dishes (her special pattern) and another china plate that had a chip. ML added just the Little Mae & Pets transferware cream pitcher images. It's a very special child's transferware pattern from England that dates back to the 1800s. The little girl, Mae, sits on a stoop with a dawg that looks like ours next to her, a kitty on her lap, and a white kitty drinking cream from a bowl by her feet. It is a very sweet and special pattern.

Mosaic Lady added the two cat brooches, of course, and also added some gold paint flecks to the upper rim after the photos were taken. She hated the somber, burgundy paint she chose.

Happy Cat Art Sunday, every kitty and persons!
Please go visit Miss Peach and Darling Adan to see the beautiful things they have posted for the day.

Those are really beautiful! And they are so happy and cheerful, too. I think my favorites are the two Happy Birthday vases.

OK, I can't trace either. And I'm in awe of your artistic abilities. I've wanted to do work with ceramics and tile--but alas, no talent. You're soooo talented
