Mancat Monday - A Varmint for Victor

By Sadie Willie

Sadie caught a huge varmint to give to Victor for his 2nd Gotchaversary Day present.
Because I am the sole mancat on the premises (at this moment), the yards and house belong to me.
So I took it.

I started to walk it down the hill to the mailbox so our wonderful postal person, Curtis, could take it right out, but then I thought maybe it should be gift wrapped first.

I tried to give it back to Sadie for wrapping, but she was very upset with me and told me to do it myself.

I tried to bring it into the dining room so Mosaic Lady could wrap it up for me.

And then I remembered that she sucks at gift wrapping.

I suddenly noticed that the varmint was not moving much, so I tried to revive him.
He did not seem to want to play anymore.

I prayed over him and tried to do some hands-on, Reiki healing, but nothing.
I decided that a varmint corpse is not a very nice Gotcha Day gift.
They don't play very well.

I went to the front yard and cleaned myself up on my hot tub.
That was a lot of exertion and trouble I went to for Victor, with nothing to show for it.

Bianca and I watched Mosaic Lady use a big shovel to toss the dead varmint over the deck and into the canyon.

It's the thought that counts, anyway, right Victor?
And we are thinking of you today.

The End

Wow, Sadie, you are a mighty hunter! I've never seen a live varmint, and I don't know if I would be able to catch one.

But Dead Varmint was probably tastey and I'm sure Victor would have liked it anyway. You should go get it from Canyon, probably has a bit of seasoning now, but would still be good.

It's the thought that counts. Was that a chipmunk or squirrel or....what the heck was that thing?

That was a very gigantical varmint! I am very impressed with Sadie's hunting skills.

Willie, it was nice of you to ship off the varmint to Victor for Sadie. Too bad your plan did not work out. As they say, the best-laid plans of mice and Mancats...

To think about it is almost as good as doing it. You can't help it if the varmint had other plans.

You prayed over the varmint? I am so impressed by your piety. Ah, I get distracted so easily. Thanks for dropping by my site again. Your assessment of my natural mosaic pattern must be deemed as the highest compliment, coming from the Mosaic Cats and Lady. Anyway, SS is very interested in your Lady's art work. She is a graduate student studying prehistoric Iranian ceramics but from what I can see, her ceramics is nowhere as colourful as your Lady's.

What a gurreat gift! I'm sure Victor really liked it even if the varmint was movin' anymore.

And nothin' better than to take credit for your sister's work, eh?? As you say, everything belongs to da mancat, right???

[That's what I believe too!]

That was certainly very nice of you to try to get that varmint over to Victor! I am very impressed that you carried that huge varmint all over the place. I have caught mice myself but they were nowhere near the size of your varmint!

That is a perfect story for Man Cat Monday. My brother, Kitty, is also a very good hunter (even though he is not allowed outside anymore). He would catch mice and snakes and bring them inside for my mamma.
