Tattle Tail Tuesday #6 - When Less is Less

Kitties, I know this is going to come as a staggering shock to you, but Mosaic Lady is not much for holiday decorating.
So I want to share a few of my favorite decorations that some of our (relatively) normal neighbors have put up.

Isn't this pretty, in a very understated and touching way? A neighbor put red bows all along this fence line next to the horse pastures where ML and Mosaic Dawg finish their daily walk.
See, Mosaic Lazy Lady...a little color and holiday spirit can go a long way.

This one is especially county charming. I have always loved this birdhouse and now I love it better!

This house looks SO COOL all lit up at night! It is about a mile from our house, also along the daily walk route.

The owner is really nice. One day she hollered out to ML that Mosaic Dawg was beautiful.
She might be visually impaired.
(Which would explain all the bright lights all over her lawn for 6 weeks following Thanksgiving.)

This house belongs to Susie, our favorite neighbor, who lives just at the end of our road. She has lived there since 1948!
She lost her husband of 59 years last September, and yet she still managed to turn out a festive and welcoming front porch.

Protect your sensitive eyes now, Kitties, from the awe-inspiring glare that IS
Our Holiday Decorating Extravaganza...

Can you see it? Without squinting?
That circle of tree branches tossed over the hot tub shower?

Whatthe?

The ONLY reason we have this pathetically barren wreath at all is because it was a FREE gift from our local health food store.
And they had to send ML an email to remind her to come pick it up!

Why the long snout again, Mosaic Dawg?

She is embarrassed to be seen in the same yard with our pitiful wreath.
Neither one of us is overly fond of the shower head center piece ornament motif.

Mosaic Lady claims it is contemporary, chic minimalism.

I say that it is old-fashioned, shabby LAZYism.

I get the impression that SomeKitties think I am too hard on Mosaic Lady in my Tuesday Tattle Tail posts.
Walk a mile in my paws and then you will know that I am not hard enough!
However, I will say one nice thing about her in today's Tattle:
She was nice enough to let me open one of my gifts early!
I got a new pink collar with lime green and hot pink flowers on it. I look like Goldie Hawn on Laugh In, except I'm a witty panther, not a ditsy blonde.

(Actually, this is more a gift for ML than me because it allows her to spy on me more easily when I am out in the yards.)

GD (gol dang again)... we get to start the day with a big belly laugh once again... thanks to ML's great pics and greater writing.
What big fun... and we concur 100% on the decorating stuff... tis not in the realm of '07 for sure.
Happy day to all.

Well, Annie, at least you have a wreath up! We don't have any holiday decorations up yet. Although my humans say they will put up the tree tonight. All your neighbours did wonderful jobs decorating for Christmas. :)

I agree that you are a witty panther and I love it!! Looks like you are the most decorated thing in Mosaic land!
Maybe you could hang your old collars on the wreath, heh, heh, heh
At least ML gets you presents, even if there is an ulterior motive :)

Actually, the pink collar look nice against your furs. I like nice tasteful light display. I do not like those big ugly blow up things or the people that light up their houses brighter than hollywood. Bean like decorations, but she not overdo it.

Your pink collar is the perfect accessory for your beautiful black furs. Our mom is not much in the holiday spirit either - but we think that's going to change. Nanny asked about our Christmas tree yesterday so mom is going to have to get moving and get the "fake" tree out of the shed. Nanny, soon to be 85, want the tree up - so that's the end of the discussion.

Somtimes, you just gotta call it like it is. We do like your new collar. The pink looks lovely.

Well Annie, it really could be worse. Here in the land of O Hi O our Mommy decorates just about anything that doesn't move. And I have to keep one eye open while I nap in case she gets any stoopid ideas about decorating me!

Don't feel bad. Our mombean keeps saying she's going to get around to decorating, but she's sitting on the couch reading kitty blogs instead.

Dat's more than we gots outside... unless you count snow, snow, snow, and more snow. It's 2 weekends now that was mostly spent shovelin snow (the beans, not us puddins!). Dad wants to know how ofur peeps find the time to get thems lites up. Mom says they left em up frum last year.

We's gettin more snow in one monf than Mom an Dad has efur seen. They's wonderin if they's in Colorado insteada Whiskonsin. Purrs an nosekisses to my sweet Sadie Badie!

We never have ANY outside Christmas decorations at all. Ever. My Daddie had surgery on his foot last week and will be hobbling around for weeks, so we are lucky the tree got put up.

I think the red bows on the fence that your neighbor did look beautiful!

Annie, I love your pretty pink collar. It kind of makes me wish I wore a collar, too.

Annie you do have a very good sense of humor and we always enjoy reading your pithy commentary. That pink collar is YOU. It's purrfection against the back drop of your black furrs. Just gorgeous. Only diamonds...pink ones would suit you better.

Please give a big nosekiss to Willie....

Wow, Annie! Great tattling once again. Sometimes you have to embarrass the humans before they fix the problems . . .mommy is actually thinking about PAINTING the dining room door now, thanks to my tattle last week!

That pink collar sets off your sleek black furs beautifully.

It's 6.10am and I am retyping cause my mom can't see straight yet. She loved your post SO much! She says she salutes your mom and says keep the faith, sister - to her.

Also, she loved Goldy Hawn in Laugh In.

Right, trying very hard to get her to publish the post this time and not to delete it.

MAAA HAHAHA that is so funny!!! I think the shabby chic look is perfect. And now my human has some inspiration! The shower head is an excellent touch - especially festive in a bath time kind of way. You realise I am making this up as I go along? ha ha ha

And no, you are not too hard on your human. one can never be stern enough with these stupid humans.

Can't wait to see what your Christmas tree looks like!! he he .

Well guys, that's one more Christmas decoration than we have. My human is beyond lazy. FAZ

I think that umm.. yes, the wreath on the shower. Well, it's something my humans would do. Fortunately they do not have a shower or hot tub in the yard so they can't embarrass me that much...

Life sometimes needs more simplicity. We like da werd simplicity. It sounds furry nice and lets ML off da hook for not decorating as much as da ofur peoples. An we must tell yoo how stunning yoo look wif yur new collar. It has a stunning simplistik look! Awesome.
